In the age of Instagram, why do we still make photo prints?
It all started ten years ago, when I tried to print my photos with a 3-in-1 inkjet printer. These days, I have been exploring image making with risograph duplicators. Through combining different ink colours, papers, and editing processes, we can uncover new layers in each photo-story.

Speaker bio
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Alex LAU received his BA (Hons) in Visual Communication from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, School of Design. In 2019, he founded the memory machine as a personal exploration into relationships between everyday life and memories. In 2021, Alex started his own creative risograph studio to collaborate with artists and photographers, co-creating photo-books and editioned prints.

Deposit: HKD 50
*Refundable only upon attendance. The admin fee charged by Eventbrite shall be borne by participants. Absentees are not allowed for any refunds. Tickets are non-transferable.
Pandemic measures
1. Mandatory temperature check upon entry — participants with temperatures higher than 37.5°C will be denied admission.
2. All participants must wear a face mask at all times.
3. Maintain social distancing and avoid gatherings of more than four persons.
4. No eating or drinking inside the venue.
