The instant photo is endearing not only for its unique colour tone and signature white frame, but also for its capacity for play through the ‘emulsion lifting’ technique. Emulsion lifting involves separating the developed instant film from its white photo frame and transferring it to another object entirely. The result is an instant and personal work of art.

Join our workshop at the Summer Solstice! Art x Farm Fair at Koon Man Space, to learn and play with this traditional photo skill. Instructor Paul Ning will provide participants with a brief history of instant photography, a lesson on Polaroid camera operation, and an emulsion lifting demonstration before taking them on a tour around Chuen Lung Village to snap photos for their own emulsion-lifted artwork. A great opportunity to learn not only about photography, but also the customs and beautiful scenery of Chuen Lung. Bring a friend or family member for a memorable day out!
