“Wai Yin Association: A Mega Family”

‘In 1980, a group of former Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageant titleholders and finalists talked about their dreams for Hong Kong and what they could do to touch the lives of those less fortunate.

That dream became a reality in 1982 with the birth of the Wai Yin Club. In 1993, the Hong Kong Government certified the Club as the Wai Yin Association, a Charity Institute.’

— Quoted from the Wai Yin Association’s official website

For this project, I photographed members of the Wai Yin Association, with a special focus on two former presidents of the association. With 40 years of philanthropic legacy,  the association and each of its members have demonstrated unwavering commitment to supporting Hong Kong’s most respected charitable organisations. Although their respective aspirations and goals may differ, the members of Wai Yin Association believes that both the private and public sectors can successfully work together for the greater good of society, especially when they share a common ideal of ‘making a difference for a better tomorrow’. As visionaries and role models in social responsibility within the broader Hong Kong community, the members of Wai Yin Association truly align with the idea of a ‘Mega Family’.
