[MOViE MOViE LIFE IS ART 2025]
Special Screening of “I Am Martin Parr” for HKIPF Fundraising
Martin Parr is a well-known name in the photography world. He is renowned for his interesting compositions and saturated colors in his photographs, which reveal the absurdity of consumerism, tourism culture and social class. Many are familiar with his classic works, but do you know about his early photography style and shooting process?
The documentary “I Am Martin Parr” directed by Lee Shulman traces Parr’s photography life, telling a story about how Parr transitioned from black and white to color photography. Lee recorded the scene of Parr holding a walking aid and returning to his old shooting locations at the age of 73.
If you want to know more about Martin Parr’s life and stories, don’t miss “I Am Martin Parr”. HKIPF will be screening this documentary with MOViE MOViE on June 18 with specially designed commemorative tickets.
All ticket proceeds will be automatically donated to the “Art Development Matching Grants Scheme” to fund more art projects. According to Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, the Hong Kong Photographic Culture Association is a tax-exempt charitable organization, and donations of HK$100 or more can apply for tax exemption.
*Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis.
