Mailboxes filled with God statues, a gate watched over by three ladies, a clothes-drying castle in the middle of the road, and terraced fields filled with butterflies… Chuen Lung is surrounded by curious sceneries, stemmed from the folk wisdom of its villagers.

As an intimate public space, Chuen Lung offers a cultural atmosphere that is starkly different from the city. Sunny Wong integrates the observational focus of Modernology into photography, recording and analyzing the unique phenomena of Chuen Lung, ultimately presenting a warm portrayal of its contemporary social culture.

“Familiarity” sometimes acts as a filter, dulling our curiosity. This March, join our “Folk Wisdom and Curious Conversations” Modernology Photography Workshop to see Chuen Lung Village from a different perspective, and rediscover your curiosity about life!
