In this conversation, the artists will share their creative and research processes. Beginning with the observation of local flora and fauna, they trace and document the ecology of Chuen Lung, reflecting on how species and humans together weave the intricate fabric of their shared habitat.
Founded in 2018, Project CROW is an initiative to bring people closer to nature by means of art and interactive experiences. Apart from the acronym for Creative Outdoor Workshops, the crow is selected for its playfulness, a symbol of all things exciting in nature that are yet to be explored.
Vangi Fong is dedicated to project design and coordination, art education, and public engagement initiatives, with a focus on community, development, and land issues. She excels at guiding young people and the public in exploring the possibilities of artistic creation. While her previous works often centered on urban food waste recycling, this time Vangi turns her attention to seeds. Seeds, as the origin of life, encapsulate the complexity of ecosystems and the continuity of life. Vangi will collect and study seeds from Chuen Lung’s plants, delving into the wisdom and techniques demonstrated by villagers in their agricultural practices, as well as the resilience and adaptability of the natural world.
